Spending a summer in Los Angeles
In 2019 I took part in Quinnipiac University’s QU in LA program. I spent 10 weeks in Los Angeles working at SiriusXM for Hits1 in Hollywood while also exploring the Los Angeles area.
Living in LA
For the 10 weeks I was in Los Angeles I lived in an apartment in Marina del Rey with three others from Quinnipiac University. The QU in LA program included different excursions that allowed for participants to explore California. I was lucky enough to go to a Dodgers game, Warner Bros. Studio, Catalina Island, and more!
Working at SiriusXM
Another big part of my time in Los Angeles was my internship with SiriusXM. I was the Hits1 in Hollywood intern and worked closely with the producer and hosts of the show. Beyond working with the Hits1 team, I also got the chance to work with The Covino & Rich Show and the talent acquisitions department.
During my last week as an intern, Hits1 was notified that Katy Perry was going to come in and talk about her new single, “Small Talk.” I got to see what happens when an A-List celebrity like Perry does a press tour and everything that goes on behind the scenes.
